Common Questions

Getting started — projects, properties, snag lists and condition reports

Snagger is built around four building blocks:

  • Project — the top level. One project per job, contract, or site. Holds everything else.
  • Property — a single building or unit inside a project (e.g. "Block A, Penthouse"). A project can have many properties.
  • Snag list — a defects / punch list for one floor of one property. Each snag list has its own plan and pins.
  • Condition report — a multi-floor property assessment with a facade photo and a plan per floor. Damage reports are a variant for documenting specific damage events.

Typical workflow: create a project → add a property → start a snag list or condition report → import the plan → drop pins where you find issues → finalise → share the PDF.

Adding pins and photos to a plan

Tap the plan to drop a pin. The pin sticks where its tail points. Pinch to zoom and use two fingers to pan while placing.

  • Add up to 20 photos per pin.
  • Long-press a photo to add a caption (shown next to the photo on the PDF).
  • Tap a photo to annotate with red lines, rectangles, circles, or freehand drawings.
  • Long-press an existing pin to move it.
  • For snag pins, set a severity (low/medium/high) and mark complete with a note and photo when fixed.
Generating PDF reports

Tap "Generate & Finalise Snag List" (or the equivalent on a condition report) and Snagger builds a polished A4 PDF in seconds.

  • The first generation finalises the list — pins are locked from adding or moving (you can still mark them complete).
  • Tap "Revise" to unlock, make changes, and re-generate. Each re-generation creates a new revision (R1, R2…) and the original is preserved.
  • Every saved revision appears under "Saved Reports". Tap any revision to view or share its PDF.
Branding your reports — logo and letterhead

Settings → Branding lets you upload a company logo and a letterhead. Both appear at the top of every report cover.

  • Logo — square, recommended 200×200 px PNG with transparent background. Renders small (~48px tall) next to your company info on the cover.
  • Letterhead — wide banner, recommended 2000×350 px (about 5.7:1 ratio). Max printed height is 30mm — taller images are auto-scaled.
  • Tap an existing logo or letterhead row to Replace or Remove it.
Subscription — free vs Pro

Snagger is free to download and try. The free tier lets you create one project with unlimited plans, pins, and photos. PDF report generation, multiple projects, and Google Drive backup & sync are part of Snagger Pro.

  • Pro — €4.99/month or €40/year. Unlocks unlimited projects, unlimited PDF generation, and Google Drive backup & sync.
  • If you already paid on another device, open Settings → Subscription → "Restore Purchases" to re-link.
  • Cancellations are handled through your App Store or Play Store account, not inside the app.
  • After resetting the app, use "Restore Purchases" to recover Pro — the entitlement lives with Apple or Google, not in the app.
Backups — Google Drive backup & restore

Snagger Pro lets you back up to your own Google Drive and restore from it — useful for keeping your work safe and moving between your devices.

  • Open Settings → Backup & Sync → Sign in with Google. Snagger asks only for access to a private folder it creates in your Drive — it cannot see the rest of your Drive.
  • Tap Back up now to upload your projects, photos, plans, and generated PDF reports.
  • To move to another device: install Snagger on the new device, sign in with the same Google account, and tap Restore. Your work is downloaded back onto the device.
  • Backups are manual — Snagger never syncs in the background. Run a backup whenever you've finished a meaningful chunk of work.
  • Data lives in your own Google Drive account. We never see it. Sign out any time to disconnect; the backup files remain under your control in your Google Drive.
Common issues
  • "I can't create a second project." — You're on the free tier (1 project limit). Upgrade to Pro from Settings.
  • "Generate report does nothing." — Make sure you have at least one pin on the snag list. If still stuck, email us with the version number from Settings.
  • "My letterhead is cropped." — Check the recommended dimensions above. Taller-than-30mm letterheads are auto-scaled.
  • "Pin photos won't open in the editor." — Force-close the app and reopen. If it persists, the photo file may have been deleted by iOS storage cleanup — re-add the photo.
  • "My subscription is missing after a reinstall." — Open Settings → Subscription → "Restore Purchases".
  • "How do I delete all my data?" — Settings → Data & Privacy → Reset App. Wipes everything on the device. Your subscription is preserved — use Restore Purchases after.
